Shantel Okello
Policy Researcher
Shantel graduated from the University of Essex in June 2023 with a First Class Honours degree in Politics and International Relations. Following the completion of her studies Shantel joined the PPI as a Summer Intern via the 10,000 Black Interns programme in June 2023, where she was involved in many of the Institutes key research projects, including The DC Future Book and Underpensioned series. In September 2023 Shantel joined the PPI as a permanent member of the Research Team, in her new role as Policy Researcher she will be authoring a Briefing Note looking at household pensions as well as becoming more involved in other research projects.
Shantel has an interest in making a positive impact in pensions policy and recognises the importance of ensuring financial security and dignified retirement for individuals across society.
